Jason was raised in Iowa and attended both the University of Iowa and Iowa State University receiving his bachelor's degree in biological, pre-medical illustration from the latter. He then went on to complete the University of Michigan's graduate program in medical and biological illustration where he studied under such illustrious instructors as Gerald Hodge and Bill Brudon.

After receiving his Master of Fine Arts, Jason moved to Portland Oregon and began work with Interactive Composition Corporation. Soon after joining ICC, Jason became the Art Director of the company, in which capacity he oversaw the creation and training of a New Delhi, India based art department. During his seven years at this position, the department grew and developed from a modest 4 artists to over 30; throughout this time he also continued to create medical illustrations for various clients.

In 2004, he and his wife decided to return to his roots; together they founded Quail Ridge Studios. It is our goal to communicate through the visual arts. Using his creative and innovative style, Jason will help you accomplish your goals, too.
